Woodcutting is a gathering skill — chop tier-matched wood in each zone, same shape as Mining or Herbing. Construction is a two-track crafting skill: cheap, fast Building Parts recipes are the actual leveling loop (comparable pace to Smithing — Parts XP scales to your effective Construction level, not the tier of the Parts recipe used, so restocking old tiers is never wasted time), and a separate, expensive, slow Assembly recipe per tier consumes a large stockpile of those Parts — mostly current-tier, plus smaller chaotic amounts from up to 3 lower tiers — plus a real chunk of raw wood/ore, to actually build the village add-on. Add-ons install into a small number of slots (1 per housing tier, capped at 5) and grant permanent passive buffs — one primary buff plus two smaller secondaries, plus a flat level bonus to one non-combat skill. Only one of each building type can be installed in your village at a time. Destroying an installed add-on refunds 25% of its Assembly cost.

Every building also grants a flat level bonus to exactly one non-combat skill — the 9 non-combat skills cycle one per building (never combat), so the first 9 buildings each cover a different skill at +1, and tiers 10–27 cover all 9 twice more at +2 (the cap: no single building ever grants more). Tiers 28–34 grant no skill level, so every skill can reach the same +5 from buildings. Together with +4 skill gloves and a +2 profession trinket, every non-combat skill tops out at +11. This bonus stacks with skill-boosting gear (like Ashforge Gauntlets) and bridges the same recipe/activity/zone-travel level gates. See +Skill Levels for every source, per skill.
